Our client is a global service provider to the key transport manufacturing sectors, including Automotive, Aerospace, Rail as well as Defence. They are looking for a UK Managing Director to take the business to the next level, playing a pivotal role in steering the entity toward it’s goals, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships. With your exceptional strategic vision and leadership skills, you will be the driving force behind the company’s ambitious growth and development plans, and ultimately its success. Able to rapidly adapt in a multinational and fast-paced environment, you will act as a catalyst for change across the UK team, tackling daily complex operations, shaping the team and co-operating with the wider group, whilst acting as a role model for the company values. You will be fully responsible for the P&L in all its aspects: business development, operations, operational excellence, HR, finance.

Who we're looking for?

To succeed in this role, you will be a highly capable, customer-focused Managing Director, Plant Director, General Manager, or multi-site Operations Director with strong financial skills and commercial acumen. You will have managed a P&L of a significant size, supplying into automotive, aerospace or rail, be it as: a manufacturer; an engineering services or BPO provider; or a logistics business.

• You will be entrepreneurial, open-minded, and an agent for change and transformation, experienced in driving continuous improvement.
• With outstanding interpersonal and communication skills you will be able to develop strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.
• You will thrive in being autonomous and handle pressure well, whilst having a collaborative mind-set and being a team player.
• You will be solutions-focussed: analytical, structured, with good organisational skills, whilst being flexible and innovative.
• You will pride yourself in having high levels of personal integrity.
• It would be advantageous if you have experience in multinational, possibly matrix, service-oriented environments.
