Factory Manager

Our client

Our client designs and manufactures the most advanced and premium quality products in their segment of the building products sector. Founded nearly 20 years ago, the business was recently acquired by Private Equity and a relatively new senior team is in place, driving a growth plan to take revenues beyond the current £12m per annum. The business has an entrepreneurial and fast paced culture with every product made to order in its factories in Leicester. Our client strives to invest in and improve its manufacturing capability which remains largely unchanged from its early beginnings, with high levels of manual-skilled labour and little automation.

The role

As Factory Manager you will oversee and lead the manufacturing process and therefore will be instrumental in the success of the business. You will be responsible for two factories within close distance of each other in Leicester, with a team of circa 50-60, led by team leaders. You will need to bring a high-level of energy, knowledge and experience to develop their dedicated manufacturing team to the next level, making it truly world class. In addition to your exceptional communication, management and leadership skills, you will also drive compliance with agreed processes, quality and health and safety regulations. You will ensure factory operations run smoothly and foster a culture of continuous improvement whilst helping to implement new processes to drive improved performance against KPI’s.
