Kaizen Talent Solutions are working in partnership with a leading, specialist manufacturer to help recruit an Operations Manager to support its manufacturing facility in Kings Lynn/ Norfolk. With a first class reputation, my Client is a market leader in the design, innovation and production of a specialist engineered product which they supply around the world. This is a newly created position to support the Owners ambitious growth plans.

Job Description

• Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will oversee day to day operational responsibility for the Kings Lynn site. You will plan, organise and direct the day to day production planning in the most efficient and effective way, contributing to the company’s success through on-time-in-full, right-first-time, efficient production.
• With the support of the Managing Director and the senior leadership team you will develop and deploy a strategic manufacturing plan that will contribute to the company’s success.
• You will also take the lead in multiple Capex projects and in conjunction with senior management, you will help define process or equipment performance, specifications and project deliverables, keeping them on time and within budget.
• As Operations Manager you will be tasked with the development of your team through effective communication, coaching and training. You will provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate best practice and improved working relationships.

The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will have-

• An engineering degree or a similar technical degree
• Experience of working in a high volume manufacturing environment
• Extensive experience of working with production/ operational responsibility within an engineering & manufacturing environment
• Experience of leading and developing a production planning strategy
• Experience of leading and delivering Capex projects  
• Experience of driving lean methodology specifically within a high volume environment
• Experience in implementing best practices in operations, quality systems, and health & safety.
• Cultivated positive working relationships with employees, peers and superiors.
• A tenacious/self- starter attitude with a will to succeed by doing the right thing for the business and with the ability to work independently and as a team member
