Engineering Manager

Since starting nearly 20 years ago, our client has become a globally recognised leader in their specialist field. Now they aim to double in size. Based in Merseyside, they are an OEM manufacturing special purpose machinery offering customer-focussed, design-led, innovative engineered solutions.
Reporting to the Managing Director, as Engineering Manager, you will have direct responsibility for leading a growing team on design and systems integration for large engineering capital expenditure equipment from project concept through to customer commissioning, ensuring on time delivery, within budget and to specification. You will support the business and Board regarding business decisions related to design. With tactical responsibility for implementing the mechanical engineering strategy and strategic operational goals, working closely with internal and external key stakeholders, project managers, manufacturing, sales and customers.

Your Background:
- Proven Engineering Manager with demonstrable evidence of delivering progress via Design Management and Project, ideally in a design for manufacturing, production and installation environment.
- Project and budget management skills.
- Ideally background in capital equipment, special purpose machinery, industrial equipment, capital kit, plant, materials handling, reciprocating machinery, pumps, compressors, generators, lift, crane, forklifts etc with an appreciation of motors, engines, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- A proven track record in strategic engineering leadership delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes and systems.
- Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Equipment Design Degree Bachelor (minimum), Masters (Desirable), or equivalent.
- Experience of effectively using and coaching regarding 3D/CAD software.
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills for maintaining and developing good internal stakeholder relationship.
- Excellent communications skills.
